Homeless Shelter for Teens - Youths in Southern Nevada Center for Indpendent Living

The Facility

A residential and day treatment facility for high risk disadvantaged youth ages 16 to 21. Our campus consists of a residential building, multipurpose facility and outdoor recreational area. Our youth live in studio apartments often with a roommate and learn the basic life skills necessary to reach independence. Three professional staff members live on premises and provide supervision and transportation for our residents. Youth enter the Center for a variety of reasons. Some of our referrals are homeless, others come from severely dysfunctional families; many have been abused and neglected and most come from homes where there is a high frequency of substance abuse. The Center attempts to give these youth the opportunity to participate and succeed in educational, vocational and life skills experiences. Residents are encouraged to engage in recreational activities and learn cooking and nutritional skills in our commercial kitchen.
